MBBS, DRANZCOG, FRACGP, FRACP, MPH Paediatrician
Dr. Kirsten (Kirsty) Walsh is an experienced general paediatrician who sees children from newborns to 18 years of age with a wide variety of medical issues. These include asthma, eczema, constipation, continence, concerns regarding nutrition, growth or development, ADHD, autism and learning difficulties.
Kirsty has special interests in acute paediatric medicine and neonatal medicine. She sees babies with prematurity, feeding and sleep concerns, plagiocephaly, hip dysplasia surveillance and other common neonatal conditions.
Graduating from The University of Melbourne, Kirsty trained at Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne and now works at Epworth Healthcare, Eastern Health and Northern Health. She cares for both paediatric inpatients and outpatients, and offers early appointments for babies and children needing semi-urgent review for medical conditions, for example asthma review after hospital attendance.
Kirsty regularly teaches and mentors junior medical staff and medical students. With three children of her own, she has a good understanding of the joys and challenges of parenting. She has a pragmatic, holistic approach to caring for children, working alongside their families, educators and healthcare teams.
